Metro Manila

Also known as the National Capital Region, Metro Manila consists of the cities of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon, San Juan, Taguig, Valenzuela, and Pateros.
Like to party? Dance the night away in the clubs of Taguig. Or indulge in world-class cuisine in Makati. Up for a cultural escapade? Visit San Agustin Church in Intramuros, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Or check out Metal Age relics such as the manunggul jar in the National Museum. How about shopping? You can bargain your way through Greenhills and come home with a set of gorgeous South Sea pearls. shop in air-conditioned comfort at the SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall. Need some fresh air? Walk around La Mesa Dam or take a breather by Manila Bay. Take in the sounds of a Bamboo Organ or a karaoke machine. And make sure to try balut if you see it on the streets.

Glorietta in Makati

Glorietta used to be a park surrounded by retails shops and restaurants. The only big building in the park’s perimeter was the QUAD, a 1970’s building comprised of four cinemas. The Glorietta park was a refreshing space to sit and rest in between window shopping and bar hopping around the perimeter.


In the 1990s Ayala Land Corporation decided to renovate QUAD and Glorietta Park. The concept was to out in one roof all the establishments in the park’s perimeter and more. Phase by phase Glorietta was built. Glorietta 1 to 4 are anchored by the former QUAD theatres. Glorietta 5 is a separate building across Rustan’s and the Manila Intercon. However, mall hopping has never been easier because there are series of interconnected bridgeways and walkways that make traversing from SM Makati to G 1 to 4 (as popularly called) to Rustan’s , Landmark and Greenbelt a “breeze”. All you have to do is park in the multi-level underground parking area and from there, you can walk to all the malls within the commercial complex.


Glorietta is “almost” a one-stop shopping center. “Almost” because the complex does not have a supermarket area. This shortcoming is more than compensated by the neighboring supermarkets of Rustan’s, SM Makati and Landmark.

The retail stores and restaurants in Glorietta are diverse enough that many different people from all walks of life enjoy shopping and window shopping at Glorietta. Easily accessible by both public and private transport, the mall is always teeming with people. The Mall has fully air-conditioned atrium with children’s play area and an activity center that is a venue for numerous trade shows and concerts, for the benefit of its shoppers. The fourth floor of Glorietta 4 is where the six cinemas are located.

Ambassador Tour to the Philippines



Washington, DC.--Everyone is invited to experience more fun programs at the 9th Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors Tour (ACGTDT), which will be held from July 28 to 31, 2014.
Started in 2005, the ACGTDT is an annual program organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Tourism that brings some 400 Filipinos and Americans to the Philippines each year. Participants enjoy a VIP tour at a reasonable cost. Among other activities, the group will have a private audience with H.E. President Benigno S. Aquino III in Malacanang.
